Perfect play is a mobile application that assists beginner guitar players by providing them tools such as strumming lessons, guitar chords, and a guitar tuner. The application teaches the user the necessary musical scales and guides the user identifying notes in sound sequences that the user plays. Moreover, the application teaches the user the basics of music theory. Additionally, we will provide the user with videos of a few strumming patterns ranging from beginner to intermediate. The intermediate strumming patterns will include basic finger-picking patterns that would make the user sound more professional at playing guitar. While there are many guitar applications out there, most of them only focus on teaching the user one thing. My application integrates a guitar tuner, guitar lessons, strumming lessons, video tutorials, and a chord chart into one cohesive and user friendly application. In this presentation we discuss the tools and mathematical concepts in creating this application.
